Life is beautiful, it is meant to be enjoyed. It is meant to learn, and share, and grow in unconditional love. These things can be difficult, but never impossible.

I've killed it, even though the sub-domain still exists, and the software is still there. However it redirects here, and I will only use RedMatrix/Hubzilla. If you have a connection to my ericlnu@friendica then please connect to me here instead.

you need to add a "+" after @Hubzilla Support Forum so the post is 'posted' in the wall of the forum and all the people can see and answer ;-)

ps: i don't use jabber in hubzilla so i don't know if in this moment works well.

1. Where do you put them?
2. Do we need more?

The stock theme is configurable in a number of ways, removing the need to maintain lots of different themes just to provide small variations like colour choice and border-radius and such. Turn on the "Expert Mode" feature in your "Settings/Extra Features and visit your Settings/Display page and you'll find a *lot* of things you can tweak besides the preset schemas.

@Sean Tilley has a number of clever themes in his repo https://github.com/deadsuperhero/hubzilla-themes (love that photo he's got on the github page). I recall a few other theme efforts but can't put my fingers on them at the moment. I think the APW theme is now dead.

Do we need more? I don't know. I think you'll discover that theme support is a huge burden. The more that can be done to elegantly and easily customise and extend existing themes is a win.

Oh, and f**k ISIS and their fake-ass "Islam". They're no more Islamic than I am.

ISIS is just another acronym for CIA.

Too true. Even if I know all this, I find myself stuck using some of their crap, even though I'd really rather not to.

It's sad, but eventually we'll have people realise the Snowdens of the world were right.

Mike MacgirvinMike Macgirvin wrote the following post Sun, 12 Jun 2016 18:56:59 -0400
"Now you're going tin-foil hat on me. Facebook would NEVER listen to my private conversations [using their phone app]. That would mean they can listen to my private conversations. The GOVERNMENT simply wouldn't allow it."

"Sure I use the Google voice search occasionally, but they would NEVER record what I'm saying."

My wife and I have a few disagreements about technology. This is after she mentioned that her phone is getting really sluggish for the last 2-3 weeks. I informed her that the Facebook app recently took away the opt-in for recording from your microphone. Now it's just on and no easy way to disable it, and it's POSSIBLE the CPU is tied up sending out packets to various listening agencies and companies.

I don't think I'll tell her that it's almost a certainty there's a keylogger on her phone and has been for a couple of years. I've found them on every device I've looked at both at home and at work [probably NSA because somebody with a lot of resources was highly interested in everything I'm doing, and this targeted intrusion popped up at almost exactly the same time the group known as Islamic State started using Friendica a couple of years ago]. Anyway I can't look at her phone because it belongs to her employer (a government agency). She also downloads a lot of free apps but "they're just games", so I tend to think of her phone as nothing more than a streaming listening outpost. She believes we should just trust that corporations wouldn't do anything behind our backs. I've brought up Snowden a few times but each time she asks "who's that?", so it's obvious she hasn't been listening and that I've just triggered her tin-foil hat filter.

I'm mentioning this because the real problem we face in this fight against intrusion is that in the mainstream, it's all just paranoid geeks - nothing to be concerned about. The government and the rule of law will take care of us, just as they always have.
